A few careful habits will help your artwork remain at its best without turning ownership into conservation work.
Five quiet rules
Care begins with where the artwork lives.

Handle with clean, dry hands
Open the package on a clear, flat surface and hold the artwork by its edges where possible. Keep tape, scissors and blades away from the paper.

Choose light thoughtfully
Avoid prolonged harsh direct sunlight. UV-filtering glazing may help reduce exposure, but no display method removes every environmental risk.

Keep away from moisture and heat
Avoid radiators, damp rooms, condensation and extreme changes in temperature. Steam, grease and humidity can damage paper.

Clean around the artwork, not the artwork
Do not apply water or household cleaners to the print. Clean frame glazing carefully with a soft, lint-free cloth without allowing moisture to reach the paper.

Store flat when possible
Keep unframed work dry, dark, protected and away from floors or temperature extremes. Do not use the delivery tube as permanent storage.
Rolled prints
Let the paper relax naturally.
Place the print between clean protective sheets on a clear, flat surface and use evenly distributed flat weight. Avoid tight reverse rolling.
If you are uncertain, a professional framer can flatten the print safely.
When damage needs expertise
Do not reach for household tape or glue.
Do not trim, laminate or permanently mount a print without understanding the consequences. If an artwork is damaged, seek advice from a qualified paper conservator or professional framer rather than attempting a household repair.
